The 1001 is the first time we can find this word in any known documentation, and it seems to own to the monastery of Cuixà, according to the bull of pope Sergi IV "Villiam Centens Cum finibus et terminis Suis". Later, according to the bull of pope Benedict VIII in 1017, it consists in the possessions in the monastery of Banyoles.
